We always put ourselves in the place of our guests coming to stay at our cottage and we strive to deliver a clean, comfortable and relaxing experience for all guests. Our ultimate aim is for guests to return and stay with us again and also tell their friends and families about our cottage. We have decorated Chimney Gill in a pleasing colour scheme, and we have all the appliances you’ll need in the kitchen to make your stay as easy and relaxing as possible. We have added a variety of books and DVDs in case you want to unwind after a busy day or simply cosy up and stay indoors if the weather is bad.
Nowadays, we live in a world of reviews – it’s very easy to rate and berate poor service in any field. We pride ourselves highly on our TripAdvisor 5* rating and intend to do everything we can to maintain it. When guests arrive at our property, we know they will have read our reviews in advance of their visit and we hope they agree with the people who have visited Chimney Gill previously.
Criteria that can cause problems for hotels and B&Bs can be as basic as cleanliness, however, we take great effort in ensuring our guests feel like they are the first people to ever use our bathrooms or to sleep in our beds.
Individual preference can be a reason for any negative feedback as not everyone likes the same softness or hardness of mattress or pillow, although we know people like to be able to choose between one or two pillows, so we give our guests that option.
Air conditioning and heating can be an issue in accommodation sometimes, depending on the weather and temperature outside. We ensure our guests know exactly how our heating controls work and we also have the wood burning stove with a plentiful supply of logs, so the cottage is cosy, warm and homely.
Our Wi-Fi won’t cause you a headache as the signal covers the whole property. We don’t want you standing on one leg to try and send a message or email! You’ll be able to post those envy-inducing images on your social media feeds easily.
We take great pride in helping our guests when needed – this can be with an enquiry before booking, liaising with guests prior to their arrival on what is provided and what they need to bring and meeting and greeting them to ensure we show them everything they need to know in the cottage. We are happy to share our insider local knowledge with our guests depending on their likes and requirements. We’re also on hand throughout our guests’ stay in case they have any issues or questions.
