The entire cottage is tastefully decorated to a very high standard and attention to detail is key. The ‘L’ shaped open plan kitchen/dining/living room is the perfect space for everyone to relax and spend time together.
The surrounding Cumbrian countryside invites you to explore and whether you head out for the day or to walk the 3 miles to the local shop and pub, the handy utility/boot room is great to keep outdoor footwear and coats away from the living space – especially in wet weather.
The living room has large comfortable sofas and a wood burner to make the space cosy. Logs are provided for guests and additional ones are in the nearby outbuilding with an honesty box. The central heating is highly effective and available on demand for guests’ comfort. The dining area has a large table to sit 12 people, ensuring your group can all eat and chat together.
There is a den area off of the main living area, ideal for kids to play in or to relax and watch TV if needed. There is a TV with Freeview, DVD player, CD/radio player plus a library of books, DVDs and CDs to browse. The Wi-Fi signal strength is good, which will keep everyone happy!
Our well equipped kitchen is open with space for people to work together without being cramped. There is a large electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer.
The spacious feel in our farmhouse continues with our bedrooms and bathrooms. The cottage sleeps 11 people with 5 double sized bedrooms. Three are super king-sized doubles, which can all be made into twin rooms if needed, plus two additional twin rooms. The den sleeps one additional person on the sofa bed. One of the super king-sized double bedrooms is downstairs, with an en-suite walk-in shower, if that helps with allocating rooms to guests.
Attention to detail is evident in our décor upstairs also with all bedrooms being furnished with crisp bed linen and fluffy towels. Our bathrooms are modern and clean. The large family bathroom is upstairs, one of the double rooms upstairs has an en-suite and there is also a downstairs WC, so plenty of facilities for all visitors staying. For families or groups staying with small children, there is a cot and high chair available to use.
The outside space consists of an enclosed lawned garden with patio, garden furniture and a BBQ for guests to enjoy. In addition, there is an outbuilding with an additional fridge and freezer should guests have additional food stuffs for the duration of their stay.
As our property can accommodate a large group of people, we know all of our guests probably won’t arrive in one vehicle so there is parking for up to 6 vehicles.
Finally, the finishing touch before the arrival of the next visitors is the welcome pack with essentials for a hearty farmhouse breakfast on the first morning.
